MSI offers special Diwali Scheme

Blue Coat Protects Users from Latest Attack by Shnakule Malnet

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE The Blue Coat WebPulse collaborative defense has proactively protected its 75 million users from the latest attack launched by Shnakule, the largest malware network (malnet) on the Internet. Blue Coat Security Labs has been tracking the Shnakule infrastructure, which enabled WebPulse to dynamically identify the new threat. This same technique can proactively block future attacks from Shnakule and other malnets. In the attack, first reported by Armorize Technologies, MySQL.com, was hacked and serving malicious JavaScript that created an invisible iframe. The iframe enabled a drive-by download attack that was hosted on servers external to the MySQL.com site. The attack utilized not only sites that are known to be part of the Shnakule malnet but new exploit and payload servers as well. The attack host was one of many malicious sites on a server that WebPulse had already categorized and blocked as a malware host, proactively protecting users

Trend Micro finds 56% Indian kids on social Networking websites

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Trend Micro Incorporated has released the findings of its Global Consumer Technology Use and Security Study. The survey asked parents on how their kids access the Internet and the steps they take to protect and educate them about staying safe online. Overall, the survey revealed that even though parents around the world are concerned about technology's impact on their children, they welcome what this new paradigm can offer, allowing their kids the privileges of owning smartphones and using social networks at early ages. Understanding the risks, parents surveyed say they are taking an active role in providing guidance and oversight of their children's technology and Internet use. 56 Percent of Indian Kids surveyed have a presence on any of the Social Networking Websites.The majority (73 percent) of parents whose children have an account with social networking sites indicated their children's online privacy on social networking site
