In the space of a year, India has overtaken the United States to become the top global contributor of junk messages, being responsible for relaying one in ten spam emails. Most spam comes from home computers that have been compromised by hackers. India's rise to the top spot comes as the number of new internet users in the country is growing very rapidly, suggesting that computers in the country are not properly protected and that ISPs are not taking spam as seriously as they should. At the same time last year, the UK resided in sixth place in the table, contributing 3.2% of global spam. Since then, it has fallen off the Dirty Dozen entirely and, in terms of sheer numbers, UK spam has decreased by 47%. VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has ordered all Mobile Operators to offer their customers a tariff plan of one paisa per second along with other offerings. It is now said to become "mandatory" for service providers to provide in each service area at least one tariff plan each for both postpaid and prepaid subscriber with a uniform pulse rate of 'one second'. TRAI claimed that, "It has been observed that per second billing system is more acceptable among the majority of subscribers, because it enables the subscriber to pay only for the actual usage. The service providers will be at liberty to offer alternative tariff plans with any pulse rate within the overall ceiling of 25 tariff plans." The operators are believed to offer up to 25 tariff plans, but at least one should be on 'per second pulse' basis. For More Details See www.varindia.com

Cybercriminals have created fake versions of the Instagram Android app, designed to earn money from unsuspecting users. Cybercriminals have played on the popularity of the Instagram app - which has millions of users around the world, and was recently acquired by Facebook for a staggering $1 billion. If Android owners download the app from unapproved sources, rather than official sites, they run the risk of infecting their Smartphone. Once installed, the app will send background SMS messages to premium rate services earning its creators revenue.
