98% decrease in apps accessing SMS, call data in 2019: Google : Google has reported a 98% fall in the number of apps asking for SMS and Call Log data in 2019, adding that the remaining 2% require the information to perform their core function. It added that over 7, 90,000 policy-violating apps were stopped using its 'improved vetting mechanisms'. Google has also launched a revised Google Play Protect with malware protection.
