Ramco Systems conferred the 'Watts S Humphrey Award'

Ramco Systems has secured the esteemed Watts S Humphrey award for Software Quality and Process Improvement at the SPI Conference 2011 organized by Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN), Chennai.

Ramco Systems won the award for a paper presentation on 'Automation of Maintenance Process' which was adjudged as the best paper and won the first place in the first-ever Watts S Humphrey Award of Best Practices from SPIN Chennai. M. Raghuraman from Quality Management Group and M R. Srinivasan from Technology presented the winning paper during the Best practices session at the conference.

SPIN Chennai instituted the 'Watts S Humphrey Award for Best Practice' in memory of its mentor Watts S Humphrey known as the "Father of Software Quality". The organization invited nominations from industry experts to present unconventional, innovative and interesting papers on the best practices that have benefited their organization. Some of the best names in the IT industry such as TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro, Polaris, iGATE and many other organizations battled it out in this prestigious forum.

On receiving the award, Kamesh Ramamoorthy, Chief Operating Officer, Ramco Systems, said, "We are delighted to win this prestigious award, especially since we were contending with the best practices of some of the finest names in the IT industry. This award reinforces our conviction and focus on improvisation and our belief that innovation is vital. DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
