IBM partners with NGOs

IBM has announced four community projects for the city of Indore as a part of the Corporate Service Corps (CSC) program. The projects are said to be implemented in partnership with Concept Society, India@75, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and the Urban Health Resource Centre (UHRC). A team comprising of 12 IBMers from nine different countries (Japan, Canada, Chile, Brazil, USA, Australia, Mexico, Germany and Argentina) will work on these projects for a period of six months including one month on location.

The projects will focus on developing sustainable solutions for Indore. The team will also work with the Government of Madhya Pradesh in efficient tracking and monitoring of the various programs under the Labour Department. For India@75, the IBM-CSC team will create a viable plan for community organizations to use to improve the management of water resources in the city. For Urban Health Resource Centre (UHRC), the IBM-CSC team will present a strategic marketing, network building, branding and fundraising plan to increase visibility and funding channels for the organization. For the Labour Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the IBM-CSC team will work on creating the architecture and design framework for a centralized database of the different programs with an action plan and timelines for implementation. For the Concept Society, the IBM-CSC team will liaise with the various manufacturing, industrial and corporate employers in the region to understand their training and hiring needs and create a project plan that includes ideas for improving effectiveness of the centre.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications.
