COMPASS 2012 establishes  
COMPASS 2012 Mega IT Fair was recently held at the Milan Mela grounds, Kolkata, a new venue for the first time. The Mega IT Fair was inaugurated by Partha Chatterjee, Information Technology (IT) Minister of West Bengal and was organized by the Computer Association of Eastern India (COMPASS). This year Mega IT Show was based on "INFINITE POSSIBIL|T|ES" which were in tune with the fast-moving changes that were taking place in the IT world.
"The Milan Mela venue in Kolkata for COMPASS 2012 is spread over 34,000 sq. ft. of space, which enables us to bring on board about 10 new international brands to participate at the IT Fair this year," said Pawan Jajodia, Chairman, Exhibition Committee, COMPASS 2012 Mega IT Fair.
B. Hari, President, COMPASS, said, "The West Bengal IT Minister has promised to offer land to COMPASS to set up an integrated office complex and also sought the support of the Association to help the State Government prepare a feasibility report for hardware and software parks in the State. We expect to complete the process by the end of June 2012 after due consultations with the COMPASS members about their requirements." 
In his inaugural address, Partha Chatterjee, IT Minister, West Bengal, said, "We will make efforts to create and integrated eco-system for hardware. We want to set up multiple hardware parks across Bengal, i.e., in places like Kalyani, Bolepur and Mìdnapore where around 50 |T units would be accommodated."
