IBM to provide SmartCloud Solution to minimize Data Loss 
Intending to provide a fully managed server recovery solution to ensure faster restoration, while minimizing data loss and enabling continued customer service in any disaster scenario, IBM(NYSE:IBM) has announced that its Cloud-based disaster recovery service named SmartCloud Virtualized Server Recovery (VSR) has been selected by three organizations in India.

The organizations that have adopted the IBM SmartCloud VSR solution include: Servion Global Solutions, a Customer Interaction Management (CIM) solutions firm; Synthite Industries, a manufacturer of natural products and Luminous, a power back-up solution provider.

"It is important for organizations to have a strategic approach to business continuity and resiliency. In the event of a disaster, a physical recovery approach may drastically increase the risk of data loss while significantly increasing recovery time as well. But the IBM SmartCloud VSR solution leverages advanced cloud tools to help enterprises improve business reliability with remote server recovery flexibility," saidLingraju Sawkar, Director, Integrated Technology Services, Global Technology Services, IBM India/South Asia.

The VSR service will help improve server recovery time and reliability by leveraging high-quality automation and cloud tools. It will minimize the risk of failure due to disparate hardware at the production data center and provides remote portal access to help reduce cost and time as well as the inconvenience of travelling to the recovery site.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
