TCS to bring up Rs. 1,500-cr training centre in Kerela

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE TCS to set up a mega learning centre at Thiruvananthapuram. This however, is a substantial investment from Kerela's IT sector as the Global Learning centre is worth Rs. 1,500 crore. The learning centre will come up at the Technocity. Kerela IT Department officials said that a lease deed of 83 acres of land was signed and TCS has made the initial down payment of Rs. 75.25 crore. TCS director and CFO, S Mahalingam said the centre would train and accomodate 15, 000 employes at any time. He said the company would have a grand and landmark campus at the Technocity. Technopark CEO Mervin Alexender said this was the biggest land deed signed in the history of Technopark, and that construction would begin within 12 months and is expected to be completed in 48 months. This would enable users to make payments using their Android cell phones. Now customers can pay for their purchases by tapping or waving their mobile phones at a cash register. Near Field Communication (NFC) is a data transmission system over short distances of a few metres. Two devices with NFC chips that are in close physical proximity of 4 inches can receive and send data to one another such as bank account information, purchase receipts etc. Speaking about NFC at a technology conference in November, Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said, "You'll be able to walk in a store and do commerce. You'd bump for everything and eventually replace credit cards." Microsoft Windows penetrable by hackers

The company warned of the problem in a special alert. It said it has yet to develop software to come up out an infallible solution problem. Microsoft said it is not aware of any attacks that tried to use the vulnerability, which involves the way Windows renders graphics on versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. The problem does not affect Microsoft's most-recent PC operating system, Windows 7, and its newest operating system for servers, Windows Server 2008 R2.
