Foxconn briefs December revenues

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Foxconn Electronics has declared unconsolidated December revenues of NT$316.944 billion (US$11 billion), a 3.17% increase on month and 29.53% increase on year. Accumulated revenues for 2011 reached NT$2.77 trillion, a 19.89% increase compared to 2010. Foxconn has announced that the growth in revenues was due to increased demand of consumer electronics. PC and telecom business units have also been growing continuously. Industry sources believe high demand for Apple products such as iPhone and iPad helped to push Foxconn's December revenues to a new record. Subsidiary Foxconn Technology has reported December revenues of NT$14.499 billion, a slight 8.24% decrease compared to November. Delhi HC instructs Google & Facebook to obey Laws of India

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE The Delhi High Court has threatened Google and Facebook to abide and arrange a mechanism to check disagreeable content, or they just might be banned in the country. This was done following Google India's petition in the Delhi High Court claiming that it does not execute any matter over content on Google, Blogspot, YouTube, or Orkut in India, and thus can't be summoned to an Indian court in a criminal case against it related to unpleasant images. SSTL increases 1280 Crore rupees through NCD

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) under the MTS brand has announced the raising of a loan amounting to INR 1280 Crore through Non Convertible Debentures (NCD). Deutsche Bank is believed to be the lead banker of the issue. Sergey Savchenko, Chief Financial Officer, Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd. said, "It was quite challenging to raise such significant funds with such long tenor under current uncertain regulatory environment in India, but business has to continue and grow. Ericsson closes Telcordia acquisition, presents Game Changers @ CES

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Ericsson has completed the acquisition of Telcordia for US$1.15 billion in an all-cash transaction, on a cash and debt-free basis. Telcordia is now part of the Ericsson Group and its approximately 2,600 employees have joined Ericsson. The closing follows the announcement on June 14, 2011, that Ericsson had entered into a merger agreement with LLC and Warburg Pincus to acquire 100 per cent of the shares of Telcordia. Telcordia will be managed by Ericsson's business unit Multimedia but sales and margins will be shared between Multimedia and Services depending on portfolio mix.
