Wipro to transform Customer Service Desk at Nexenta using its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform-HOLMES

Wipro has announced that it will implement a next-generation customer helpdesk management solution, powered by its artificial intelligence (AI) platform – Wipro HOLMES for Nexenta, the global leader in Open Source-driven Software-Defined Storage (OpenSDS). Wipro will also implement a Service Bot Workbench for Nexenta’s internal Technical Team. “Wipro has been a customer, go-to-market partner as well as a key provider of engineering services for Nexenta’s Software-Defined Storage product portfolio. We are confident that the Wipro HOLMES AI platform will transform and automate and enable high levels of productivity,” said Tarkan Maner, Chairman & CEO, Nexenta. Sunil Lalvani to quit BlackBerry Ltd.

The news that is making the rounds in the industry circle is that Sunil Lalvani, India Head of BlackBerry Ltd. is resigning after serving two years with the company. He took charge of the Canadian telecommunication’s India wing when it was fighting under challenges from telecom giants like Samsung Electronics Co. and native rivals like Micromax Informatics Ltd. BlackBerry has appointed Vice-president Matthew Tonkin as the interim head of India operations. Currently Lalvani is serving his notice period as confirmed by Varghese Thomas, Director – corporate communications and social media for BlackBerry India to the media. However his further career plans is still unknown. Reliance Jio set to launch 4G services

Good news for broadband users, as the long wait for high-speed internet is about to be over. On the occasion of the company’s 41st annual general meeting, the chairman & managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani has announced that Reliance Jio Infocomm will commercially launch its much awaited high-speed broadband services 4G in this year, December. Speaking on the upcoming service, Ambani stated that Jio 4G will come with a mission to cover nearly 80 percent of Indian population by this year end and aims 100 percent coverage over the next three years. It will also connect a million homes through fibre in India’s top 50 cities. The entire bouquet of Reliance Jio services will be priced between Rs 300 and Rs 500. With Rs. 70,000 crore of investment, Jio is initiating an advance broadband infrastructure to control the immense data and voice using a technology standard for offering high-speed 4G services, called LTE or long term evolution.
