In addition, VMware is working with the Apache Hadoop community to contribute extensions that will make key components "virtualization-aware" to support elastic scaling and further improve Hadoop performance in virtual environments. VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE EMC Corporation has announced that Forrester Research Inc. has positioned EMC Greenplum as a Leader in its February 2012 report, "The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Hadoop Solutions Q1 2012". Forrester regards Hadoop as the nucleus of the next-generation EDW in the cloud stating, "Hadoop implements the core features that are at the heart of most modern EDWs: cloud-facing architectures, MPP, in-database analytics, mixed workload management, and a hybrid storage layer." In recognizing EMC Greenplum as a Leader, Forrester notes that EMC Greenplum is the first mover in Hadoop appliances becoming "the first EDW vendor to provide a full-featured enterprise-grade Hadoop appliance and roll out an appliance family that integrates its Hadoop, EDW, and data integration in a single rack."
