Recently government of India appointed Dr. Khatua as special envoy to South Sudan and Sudan to broker peace between the two nations. He is currently working as an additional secretary in the Ministry of External  Affairs.By his appointment Government of India expects the Trade among both countries will double to 5 Billion in a period of Two years.
