Airtel debuts its emergency alert service in eastern India

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Aimed at the women's safety  Bharti Airtel  has launched its emergency alert service in the eastern region in India. The service allows users to send an alert to 10 contacts in case of any emergency. According to Vir Inder Nath, Chief Operating Officer, Kolkata and West Bengal Telecom Circle, “Airtel is also in talks with the local police department to have a police helpline number on the loop.Out of total customer base of around 19 million are in the states of West Bengal and Odisha and one-third would be female. We expect subscription for this service from about 10 per cent from female customer”. The service is priced at Rs. 30 with a validity of 30 days. Gaming sites are the next target for Phishing Attacks: Kaspersky

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Kaspersky Lab  experts have reported that the data obtained by  Kaspersky Security Network    (KSN that 7,000 attacks infect gamers around the world every day in 2012. These attacks are launched in an attempt to gain access to personal user data, such as passwords to online games and online banking systems.  According to the report, malicious users send an average of 10 emails with malicious links and attachments to gamers every day, in addition to making roughly 500 attempts to infect gamers via browser-based attacks. Cybercriminals suggest the names of well-known gaming worlds and desperately try to lure gamers to their fake websites in order to harvest passwords from registered gaming accounts.
