IAMAI supports recommendations on Net Neutrality by TRAI

Considering the TRAI’s recommendations on Net Neutrality, the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has said that the recommendations are progressive in nature and are in line with the debates in the industry and user groups that have been raging for the last two years. For the industry, the recommendations are pragmatic in the sense that it recognizes the requirements of expansion of digital services in the country, when it makes reasonable exceptions for specialized services, reasonable traffic management practices or fulfilling international treaty agreements. Special provisions for IoT, specialized services and CDNs reflect forward-looking recommendations that take into account the needs of the foreseeable future. Online retail is growing by leaps and bounds, says IAMAI

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   IAMAI  has released industry figures that indicate robust growth in the online retail business in India estimating the number of  online retailers as close-to 1 million  as of date. Subho Ray, President, IAMAI , said, "Nearly 1 million large and small retailers make use of online marketplaces to reach out to their customers in India today. These online retailers represent a very wide range of categories, including electronics, books, apparel, accessories, footwear and jewellery." The Association has estimated that online retail accounted for US$12.6 billion (INR62,967 crore), showing a year-on-year CAGR of 34 per cent since 2009 and is expected to escalate further as policy and FDI issues are addressed and delivery logistics come of age. Indian MVAS Market to reach $9.5 Billion by 2015

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Wipro Technologies(NYSE:WIT)  and the  Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) , in a joint research report titled “Future Thought of Business (FTOB): MVAS”, has predicted that the Indian MVAS market will grow at a CAGR of 25% between 2012 and 2015 to reach US$9.5 billion in 2015, from an estimated US$4.9 billion in 2012. Wipro and IAMAI conducted an evaluation of over 450 consumers and providers of MVAS in India to identify the major drivers and barriers of the Indian MVAS market and provide insights that will help to grow this market. India to have 165 Million Mobile Internet Users by 2014

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Internet users, who are accessing the web through mobile devices including smartphones and tablets and dongles in India, are continuously increasing. According to the latest report generated by IAMAI, mobile Internet users in India are expected to reach to a benchmark of  165 million by March 2014.
