Agreement to develop Future Application Processors

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   STMicroelectronics has announced the next step in its multimedia convergence strategy, which will focus on offering a single application processing platform to serve a broad range of multimedia devices.  ST signed an agreement with ST-Ericsson on the development of future application processors. Under the terms of the agreement, ST will take on ST-Ericsson's application processor development R&D activity and then license back its technology to ST-Ericsson for integration into their ModAps for smartphones and tablets. Sony India dominates Digital Still Camera Market

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Sony India reinforces its No. 1 position in the digital still camera market with an aim to capture a very dominant 45% share (Amt.) in FY12. Sony India witnessed a growth rate of 45% (Qty.) in FY11, beating the industry growth rate of 40% (Qty.). Sony plans to sell 14 lakh (Qty.) units of these Cyber-shot units in FY12, overcoming its last year's sales of 11 lakh (Qty.) units. The Digital Still Camera segment in India stood at 33 lakh (Qty.) units in FY11 and is expected to increase to 42 lakh (Qty.) units by FY12.  Sony has launched 34 new Cyber-shot cameras - H, W and S series. Moreover, Sony also plans to pump in an investment of Rs.50 crore towards a multi-media brand campaign, "incredible zoom. Incredible details" with its Brand Ambassador, Deepika Padukone. It is initially said to be released for Android devices, PC and Mac. It is also supposed to support for iPhone and iPad later on. Epson's "WorkForce"Series unveiled

The first two models of the new series are the Epson WorkForce WF-7011 colour A3 single function printer, and the Epson WorkForce WF-7511 - which is Epson's first-ever A3 inkjet all-in-one printer.  The Epson WorkForce printers use Epson's high-capacity 143 DURABrite Ultra pigment inks that offer an extremely low 0.75 paise cost per A4 page(2) for monochrome printing and Rs.2.10 per A4 colour page for colour prints.  In addition to a standard USB 2.0 interface, the printers have built-in Ethernet, and Wi-Fi.
