Report: By 2016, Half a Million TD-LTE Base Stations will be deployed

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE According to market research, At least half a million base stations is believed to be installed or upgraded for TD-LTE by the end of 2016. TD-LTE is the Time-Division Duplex (TDD) variant of the fourth-generation (4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless standard. Aditya Kaul, Practice Director, Mobile Networks said, "It was only two years ago that nearly every WiMAX operator, including operators with unpaired TDD frequency spectrum, were planning to deploy WiMAX 2. Today, almost all of them have switched plans and are deploying TD-LTE instead." WiMAX operators today are believed to be generally offering fixed WiMAX service based on the IEEE 802.16d specification, or mobile WiMAX service based on IEEE 802.16e. VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Way2Sms.com has acquired 160by2.com another Person to Person (P2P) messaging portal based out of Hyderabad with 13 million registered users. 160by2 is operated by SMS Country and as a part of the deal. The deal was an all-cash deal but the value was not disclosed. Post-acquisition, 160by2 is said to continue to grow as an independent unit under the leadership of Way2Online. Way2Sms has 23 million registered users and with the acquisition the company targets a turnover of Rs 60 crore during 2012-13.
