WD introduces Compact 1TB Hard Drive for Thin Mobile Devices

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   For thin and light systems such as slimmer notebooks,  Western Digital (WD)(NASDAQ:WDC)  has announced the launch of 2.5-inch, 7mm slim, TB hard drive meant for high-capacity storage. This hard drive is designed for OEMs, channel integrators and consumers.  This hard drive is an addition to WD’s Blue hard drive family. Aircel establishes Free Mobile Booths for Victims in Uttarakhand

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   To offer the victims and stranded people to make free calls to their homes affected by the Uttarakhand flood havoc,  Aircel  has set up free mobile booths at the affected locations. These mobile booths are operated by Aircel team members, who are reaching out to as many victims as possible to help them establish contact with their families. The mobile booths have been set up to  provide assistance to affected people  coming in from Kedarnath, Rudraprayag and Gaurikund areas to the Koti Relief Camp in Tehri district. The booths are being equipped with helpdesks, handsets with sufficient talk-time and mobile charging units, all available free of cost. Google Releases Crisis Response Map for Uttarakhand Floods

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   The tech giant  Google  has made a contribution to flood relief efforts in Uttarakhand by releasing Crisis Response Map which can help keep all concerned aware and up-to-date. This crisis map is only an early version aimed at providing quick information, such as, places affected, relief centers and road closures, says Jayanth Mysore, Senior Product Manager at Google India, in a blog post. As always, in times of such disaster, accurate information is hard to come by and our Crisis Response team has relied on scantily available information where available. Dell India takes another step towards Its Social Innovation Challenge

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   To strengthen environmental awareness,  Dell India(NASDAQ:DELL)  has announced installation of a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Grid Connected System at its Whitefield campus in Bangalore. This deployment will help Dell to reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 54.9 tons of CO2-equivalent per year. The grid system comprises of a capacity of 42.78 kilowatt. Deepak Ohlyan, Executive Director of Facilities, Dell India , said, “Dell supports various environment-friendly efforts – from ways to reduce global emissions to incorporating power-efficiencies and employing sustainability practices. Airtel introduces High-Speed 4G Services for Its Subscribers

HP upgrades Its Converged Storage Portfolio with New Offerings
