WD introduces Compact 1TB Hard Drive for Thin Mobile Devices 
For thin and light systems such as slimmer notebooks, Western Digital (WD)(NASDAQ:WDC) has announced the launch of 2.5-inch, 7mm slim, TB hard drive meant for high-capacity storage. This hard drive is designed for OEMs, channel integrators and consumers.  This hard drive is an addition to WD’s Blue hard drive family.
Matt Rutledge, Vice-President & General Manager for Client Storage Products, WD, said, "Users with large portfolios of content no longer need to sacrifice capacity when buying an Ultrabook or upgrading to a thin and light notebook. This most compact 1TB hard drive to-date offers manufacturers of systems an upsell path for their customers who will now be able to choose systems offering both sleek design and high capacity.
WD’s ShockGuard technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks. Another technology which enables the quiet performance of the hard drive is the WhisperDrive technology. For accurate tracking during read and write operations, the motor shaft present in the hard drive is secured.....See More
