NIELIT supports Digital India Campaign with Cycle Rally

Taking forward the mission of the ongoing Digital India Week, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) has spread the message of digital literacy through a cycle rally from Electronics Niketan (CGO Complex) to Harijan Basti (Valmiki Colony), Mandir Marg, with a view to sensitize the local residents of Harijan Basti about “Digital India”, which is an enabling framework, irrespective of age, gender, caste or religion. 50–60 officials of NIELIT, DeitY, Industry, etc participated in the rally, followed by an interactive session with the local residents led by Dr Ashwini Kr. This initiative, a part of the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM), will complement the government’s vision to empower at least one person per household with critical digital literacy skills by 2020. The National Digital Literacy Mission is a far-sighted, dynamic and integrated platform of digital literacy awareness, education and capacity programmes that will help rural and the underserved communities fully participate in the global digital economy. NIELIT signs MOU with Intel

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE     Taking forward the National Digital Literacy Mission and Digital India Campaign of the Government of India, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), a body with the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India, has signed an MOU with Intel India to jointly conduct courses and online examinations on digital literacy as well as vet NIELIT’s courses on Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM). Intel will develop the software for assessment of candidates under the National Digital Literacy Mission to make the courses more industry oriented to endeavour to make one member of each household digitally literate in India.
