Amazon acquires Amiato data migration start-up

The Palo Alto-based start-up specializes in taking data from a variety of modern databases and migrating it into Amazon’s online archiving service named Redshift. The company received $2 million in funding from Data Collective, Andreessen Horowitz, Ignition Partners and others. This acquisition targets small companies, particularly niche like 2lemetry, an Internet-of-Things firm Amazon purchased last month, and Israeli semiconductor start-up Annapurna Labs, which the online retailer agreed to buy in January. Amazon came up with its first set of Web-services products almost 10 years ago. Ericsson joins hands with Bonnier Broadcasting to supply Online Video Platform

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Ericsson has tied up with Bonnier Broadcasting to supply online video platform to the over-the-top (OTT) and live TV subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service. Ericsson did not reveal the details of the deal. The networking supplier will provide managed services including content management and preparation, digital rights management, subscriber management and billing and advertising insertion for multiple devices and platforms. The online TV service will be launched at the end of this year. Bonnier Group content includes sports, local and international drama series, sitcoms and Swedish and international feature films will be available both on-demand and live. The average for the year stood at 72.1 - 8.2 percentage points less than in 2011. Such a prolonged and substantial decrease in spam levels is unprecedented. The main reason behind the decrease in the spam volume is the overall heightened level of anti-spam protection. Spam filters are now in place on just about every email system, even free ones. Also, many email providers have introduced mandatory DKIM signature policies (digital signatures that verify the domain from which emails are sent). Kaspersky tightens Cloud Security with a new patent

It is reportedly said that  patent No. 8661547  was issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office and describes a technology that safeguards cloud services against false information that might be sent to them. The newly patented system performs a number of tests before using any information uploaded from a device. The server checks whether the data communication protocol specifications were violated: an unusual sequence of operations or other anomalies while sending data may indicate an attempt by cybercriminals to interfere in the server’s operation. Su-Kam to provide electricity to rural households in UP

The company has bagged this prestigious project after winning a tender from  Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) , which has been assigned this project under the “ Lohia Awas Project ” by the Government of UP. As part of this project, Su-Kam will be installing “ Solar PV power packs ” which comprise of 3 numbers of LED lights (2 LEDs of 3W & 1 LED of 5W), 1 DC ceiling fan (25W) and 1 solar charge controller with mobile charging point in each of the rural houses. "Exabyte growth is accelerating, and we are building higher capacity drives to address this growth. The time required to properly test these higher capacity drives is increasing dramatically, making it strategically important to have uninterrupted access to world-class test equipment and engineering resources. The addition of Xyratex helps us fill this important need and considerably streamlines Seagate’s supply and manufacturing chains for our core HDD business," said  Dave Mosley, President of Operations and Technology, Seagate .
