BSNL to install 300 CCTV cameras in Ahmedabad

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Ahmedabad Police has plans to install 300 CCTV cameras across the city keeping in mind the recent serial blasts in Mumbai. The police will identify 100 important locations on which these cameras will be installed. These locations will include the entry-exit points, malls, sensitive areas, railway stations, bus stops and airports. This project will be handled by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). There is a plan to form a citizen's security trust, which will raise the funds. S.K. Sinha, Police Commissioner, Ahmedabad said, "We feel there is an urgent need to have a network of CCTV cameras in a city like Ahmedabad, as the city has always been on the terror target. The Government procedure takes time, but we require the CCTV network to be installed at the earliest.
