Axis brings IP Cameras with i-CS Lens

Axis Communications has introduced IP cameras featuring i-CS lens. This latest lens technology is the result of a joint development between Axis Communications and the Japanese leading lens manufacturer Computar (CBC Group). The new intelligent i-CS lens directly exchange information such as its geometrical distortion and the exact position of its zoom, focus and iris opening. “In the past, CS-mount cameras had no information about what type of lens was mounted on them making it necessary to manually fine-tune lens and camera settings for optimal results. The new i-CS lens technology is based on an open protocol standard allowing lens and camera to exchange information. The installer can remotely both set the focal length and focus the camera. Axis expands its modular miniature camera

Axis Communications has announced that its modular AXIS F Network Camera Series, which is based on a divided network camera concept is offering three additional sensor units for use with its two main units. The small sensor units, which comprise a lens, image sensor and cable for connection to a main unit, can be installed discreetly in tight places and are sold separately from the main units. The main units house the processor, network, power, SD card slot and other connections and can be installed away from public view. This set-up not only offers customers a highly discreet video surveillance solution, but also the flexibility to choose the units that best fit the particular demands of an installation. The release includes support for two-way audio, which enables integration of Axis network video door stations and network horn speakers. In addition, “Axis’ operator mode” is introduced, a dedicated interface for efficient operation that meets the requirement of the occasional user as well as the more active user in applications such as retail stores, manufacturing facilities and schools.
