Nokia Siemens Networks expands Global Service Delivery Centre in Chennai

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Nokia Siemens Networks has announced the relocation and expansion of its Global Network Solutions Centre (GNSC) to a new site in Chennai. Since its launch in 2007, the Chennai GNSC has witnessed tremendous growth. This includes a ten-fold increase in the number of subscribers it supports on behalf of operators around the world to 77 million. In addition, the centre now remotely manages over 87,000 base station sites, 14 times the number when it opened four years ago. The new facility occupying 90,000 sq. ft. was inaugurated by Vishant Vora, Group CTO, Vodafone India, in the presence of Armando Almeida, Head of Global Services, Nokia Siemens Networks. Foxconn sees on-month revenue growth in December

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Taiwan-based electronics manufacturing service (EMS) provider Foxconn Electronics has announced revenues of NT$244.68 billion (US$8.36 billion) for December, up 5.5% on month and 83.8% on year, while non-consolidated revenues for 2010 reached NT$2.31 trillion, up 62.83% on year. However, although the company had strong growth in revenues, market watchers are more concerned about whether the company's profitability will also see a similar performance. Since the company started a new minimum wage system in October 2010, the market watchers believe that Foxconn should face some pressure on its profitability, but as its production lines in western China started operating plus new orders, the company should start seeing an effective recovery in 2011.

From taking 446 days to reach the first million users, Evernote has leapfrogged from 5 to 6 million in 52 days.
