Anand Naik bids adieu to Symantec India

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   As per the latest update, it has been revealed that industry veteran Anand Naik has quit  Symantec . He was Managing Director of Symantec for India & SAARC since April 2012.  Naik joined Symantec in 2006 executing various roles at the company with success starting from pre-sales engineer, Director (west) – technology to Director-technology sales for India and SAARC. Before he joined Symantec, he was head of GSA Team at IBM from 2004 to 2006 before his stint for four years at EITA; Sun MicroSystems.  A spokesperson from Symantec India said,  “Anand Naik, Managing Director, Sales, Symantec in India  has left Symantec on Nov 01, 2013 to pursue entrepreneurial aspirations. Symantec Reveals Indian SMBs Reports Rogue Cloud Issues

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Symantec Corporation has unveiled the findings of ‘Avoiding the Hidden Costs of Cloud 2013 Survey’. According to the survey Indian organizations are widely migrating to the cloud to gain competitive advantages around speed, agility and flexibility. Enterprises and SMBs are experiencing escalating costs tied to complex backup and recovery, and inefficient cloud storage as per another finding from the survey. Symantec unveils State of Information Survey

From confidential customer information and intellectual property, to financial transactions, organizations in India possess massive amounts of information that not only enable them to be competitive and efficient - but also stay in business.  In fact, the survey revealed that digital information makes up 51 per cent of an organization’s total value. Symantec reveals its Data Breach Study

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Symantec has announced the results of the first annual Cost of a Data Breach Study among Indian organizations. The benchmark study, conducted by Ponemon Institute in partnership with Symantec, found that data breaches have serious, quantifiable consequences. The average total cost of a breach to an organization was INR53.5 million (INR5.35 crore), with malicious breaches by hackers or criminal insiders being the most expensive type at INR4,224 for one compromised record. “The value of data has never been greater, especially with organizations rapidly adopting new technologies to provide access to business information anywhere, at any time.
