Yahoo buys email management app Xobni

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   It seems  Yahoo  is seeking to revamp its online products and boost its Web traffic.  Just after acquiring mobile app company  Qwiki , Yahoo has announced yet another buyout. This time, Yahoo has acquired email and address book management app Xobni. A Yahoo spokesperson said that  Xobni’s  employees will now join Yahoo, including its Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bonforte, who previously worked at Yahoo. It is worth noticing here that the latest acquisition is Yahoo’s fourth acquisition in recent time.  In May, it bought Tumblr, which is a microblogging platform and social networking website which allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog, for $1.1 billion. Nokia Siemens Network extends partnership with MTS

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   To address the growing demand for mobile broadband services,  Nokia Siemens Networks has announced to extend its partnership with  Mobile TeleSystems (MTS)  by deploying Frequency Division Duplex Long-Term Evolution (FDD LTE) in Moscow and Central Russia regions during the third quarter of 2013. As per the alliance, Nokia Siemens Networks will be the sole supplier of FDD LTE radio access, IP core network equipment and services. Andrey Ushatskiy, VP & CTO, MTS Group , said, "As a leading telecommunications group in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), we have been at the forefront of technology and innovation. By adding FDD LTE, we will be able to take full advantage of our spectrum allocation, provide higher capacity, and deliver the superior data experience that our subscribers deserve. Canon seeks to expand printing business in India: join hands with Monotech

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Canon India(NYSE:CAJ)  has reportedly made an announcement that the company is strengthening its partnership with Monotech Systems Ltd for its Wide Format printing business. Monotech  is the national partner for Canon for the Wide Format products in India and currently the only partner to sell and service Oce range of products . The southern region is one of the largest markets for Graphic Arts business and quick print shops. Technical document systems (TDS) products are primarily sold to quick print shops and a total of 50% of sales comes from this business. Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice-President, Canon India , said, "The wide format printing market is growing in India and Canon foresees this as a huge business opportunity.
