Red Hat Partner Conference Asia 2018 gets underway in Bali, Indonesia

Red Hat has kicked off its two-day conference - the 2018 Red Hat Partner Conference Asia. The event is taking place in Bali, Indonesia from July 10-12 2018 and has witnessed the attendance of more than 225 Red Hat partners, distributors, system integrators, ISVs, OEMs and solution providers. The conference commenced with the keynote presentations by Red Hat executives - including Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen, senior vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific; Arun Oberoi, executive vice president for global sales and services; and Mark Enzweiler, senior vice president, partners and alliances. Twitter Buys Indian Company ZipDail for $35m

ZipDial has become the first Indian technology product startup to be brought by Twitter.  This is the third such deal led by a global corporation following the acquisitions by Facebook and Yahoo last year. announced in an official tweet  on Tuesday  morning is expected to cost Twitter $34-35 million. The Bengaluru based startup, co-founded by Valerie Wagoner has built a thriving business round the “missed call”. This feature is expected to help Twitter reach people who will come online for the first time in countries such as Brazil, India and Indonesia, mostly using a mobile device. Twitter’s purchase has spurred anticipation in India’s exit-starved technology product sector. According to a study by iSpirt and investment bank Signal Hill, India recorded just 141 deals, compared with 4,728 in the US during 2010 and 2013.   See more

Foxconn to establish manufacturing plant in Indonesia

The investment will be approximately US$1 billion and will create over 1 million jobs for the Indonesians. Talks are going on between Foxconn and the Indonesia's Ministry of Industry.     Foxconn representative commented, "We are looking forward to establishing a new manufacturing plant in Indonesia, although nothing is finalized yet. This will help us in manufacturing good quality products and make them available in the markets at lower prices. With this, Indonesians will also get better employment opportunities. Foxconn to invest in Indonesia

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is said to be planning to establish manufacturing plants in Indonesia as the minister of Indonesia's Ministry of Industry recently revealed that Foxconn is set to invest US$1 billion in Indonesia, and the investment is expected to create about one million jobs, during his attendance of Indonesia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce, according to sources from the upstream supply chain. Foxconn confirmed that the company has been approached about the possibility of making investment in Indonesia; however, the company has not yet started any evaluation for the investment, while the project is also not yet decided. However, market watchers are taking an optimistic view about the investment in Indonesia since the country has the fourth largest population worldwide.
