Zomato unveils mobile application for Nokia smartphones

The search application allows users to search for nearby restaurants based on the user's location. CATSA Selects G4S to Provide Airport Screening Services

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Canadian Air Transport Security Authority has selected G4S as the Security Screening Contractor for the delivery of Airport Screening Services in the Pacific Region. G4S Secure Solutions (Canada) will provide services at 20 airports, including Vancouver International Airport. TRAI: 13 mn used number portability since Nov'10

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, nearly 13 million subscribers have changed their service provider using the Mobile Number Portability facility since November 2010. Maximum number of porting requests have come from Gujarat (12.98 lakh) followed by Maharashtra (10.32 lakh) till June 30. About 10.5 million subscribers had used MNP as on May 31, claimed sources. TRAI also said the total wireless subscriber base increased from 840.28 million in May to 851.70 million at the end of June, a growth of 1.36 per cent. Of the total 851.70 million subscribers, only 594.77 million subscribers were active subscribers. The proportion of active subscribers is approximately 69.83 per cent of the total wireless subscriber base reported by the service providers. Idea leads the tally with 92.48 per cent of its total user base in the active category. Bharti Airtel has 88.77 per cent while Etisalat DB is at the bottom with 34.84 per cent.

ZTE joins hands with BSNL

Under the partnership, ZTE will deploy ultra high-speed ADSL2+ and next-generation VDSL2+ broadband devices across BSNL's network in 15 circles.
