Fortinet leverages Spirent Solutions to validate FortiGate-3810D

Fortinet and Spirent Communications have announced the results of performance tests conducted on the FortiGate-3810D, the latest Fortinet firewall appliance designed for large enterprises, Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and data center environments. Spirent’s test results validate the high performance and scalability delivered by the FortiGate-3810D. Testing with Spirent solutions showed that the FortiGate-3810D, which comes standard with six 100-Gigabit Ethernet ports, all-in-one compact 3U appliance form-factor, delivers a steady 292 Gbps Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) throughput and 317 Gbps User Datagram Protocol (UDP) throughput with zero packet loss at 512 bytes packet size. It is aimed at helping government bodies and leaders to communicate directly with citizens on a daily basis via Tweets and SMS on their mobile devices. Through Twitter Samvad, every day a set of curated Tweets will be delivered from the government and leaders’ accounts to mobile users across the country as SMS. Reliance Jio hurries to launch 4G services before Govt’s deadline

After trials of parts of the network that threw up technical glitch around connecting one point with another, Reliance Jio Infocomm is in a hurry to launch its 4G data and voice services before government’s mandated timeline. In Mumbai and Gandhinagar the company may be close to its launch but the company is testing 3,700 sites for its network in Delhi.   As per report, the company is facing challenges like securing sites and laying more optic fibre. Reliance Jio had announced its plans to introduce high-speed data and voice services in 2015 but has never given a specific date. According to rules of Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the company must roll out its services by second half of 2015, five years from the time it was allotted 4G airwaves in the 2300 MHz band... Amazon plans to invest 1,155 in Indian market

In one of its largest tranche of investments in India since it entered the country in 2013,  online retail giant, Amazon plans to invest Rs. 1,155 crore to build its presence in India. The company had earlier raised Rs 610 crores. Amazon had announced a $2 billion (about Rs 12,500 crore) investment in the country without giving a time frame, last year and has invested Rs 2,500 crore since then, including the latest fund infusion. Amazon India, which entered India a year ago, had a net loss of Rs 321 crore in the year ended March 2014. Last year, Amazon launched over two dozen new stores on its portal, increasing its selection to more than 19 million products with a seller base of more than 16,000 vendors. The e-commerce sites have an intense competition which is driven by offering heavy discounts, sale and freebies. Online retail market in India is expected to take a fourfold increase to $60-70 billion (about Rs 3.72-4.34 lakh crore) in the coming next five years... See mor
