Mongo DB database is under attack by the hackers : MongoDB databases, affecting tens of thousands of servers. Multiple hacking groups are reportedly behind the attacks, with one of them already compromising 22,000 servers. The attackers targeted publicly accessible databases running with default settings, deleting the data and replacing it with a ransom note that reads: Now it is learnt that, MongoDB databases still being held for ransom, two years after attacks started. DigitalOcean names Barry Cooks as its CTO

DigitalOcean  has announced the appointment of Barry Cooks as chief technology officer. In this role, Cooks will oversee the company’s overall product direction and development and will lead the engineering, product and infrastructure teams. Cooks brings more than 20 years of software, systems and product development expertise to DigitalOcean, including hardware and software engineering, product management, quality assurance and support. Most recently, Cooks served as vice-president of R&D, cloud operations products at VMware. Before VMware, he was senior vice-president of products, engineering and support at Virtual Instruments, and director of engineering at Sun Microsystems.
