$8m iPad 2 with dinosaur bones, diamonds & gold rolled

The gadget's rear section features two kilograms of 24-carat gold and the front frame is made from Ammolite. To make the gadget even more individual, sections of a 65-million-year-old T-Rex dinosaur thigh bone were splintered and shaved into the Ammolite. TheApple logo is encrusted with 53 flawless diamonds and a single 8.5-carat diamond decorates the "home" button. Huawei releases LTE TDD multi-mode data card

WB Govt invites Microsoft

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE West Bengal government is trying hard to impress the IT sector to divert its attention towards the state. The state government has invited Microsoft to set up a facility in West Bengal and promised necessary "support and infrastructure" to the company. Partha Chatterjee, the state IT Minister said, "We need to have you (Microsoft) in the State and we assure you that our Chief Minister will provide all the necessary support to help you set up a facility here." He was speaking in a seminar on IT organised by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce. Bhaskar Pramanik, Microsoft India chairman, was present on the occasion. Microsoft has a sales office in the city at present. The prominent IT players who have so far set up their facilities in the State include Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and IBM. This is Bessemer's first investment in the Internet Company, while Nexus Venture Partners and Indo US Venture Partners had earlier invested about $12 million into the company in January. "This investment will help us expand our products business, further strengthen the local and national merchant deals vertical and introduce various innovations to enhance consumer and merchant convenience," said Kunal Bahl, CEO of Snapdeal.com. Karbonn to launch Tablet PC by Oct

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Karbonn Mobiles plans to launch its tablet PC, the Karbonn K-pad by October this year, which will be priced below Rs. 10,000. "The tablet which will be available in three sizes - 7 inch, 9 inch and 10 inch can also be used as a mobile phone. Karbonn hopes to sell about 40,000 tablets a month," Sudhir Hasija, Chairman, Karbonn Mobiles said. It has invested about Rs. 70 crore for this product and its Android-based Smartphone. The Karbonn A1 phone, based on the Android Froyo 2.2 OS is a 3G-enabled phone and has a 2.8 inch capacitive touch screen, a 3.2 mega pixel camera, 1100mAh battery and supports up to 32 GB expandable memory. The search giant tried to acquire patents from bankrupt phone equipment maker Nortel Networks in April but lost its bidding war with Apple, Microsoft and other rivals.
