Train ticket booked online can be paid on delivery

As an attempt to move people away from the ticket counters and decongest booking windows and make customers more user friendly, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a pilot project by offering the cash-on-delivery option for railway tickets bought online. This service will cater to customers who are reluctant to use their bank credit card or those who don’t have net-banking enabled bank account or cards. Initially this service will be available in more than 200 cities. Train travelers can book a ticket five days prior to commencement of journey. The delivery charges will be similar to IRCTC I-tickets – Rs 40 will be charged for delivery of each sleeper class ticket and Rs 60 for an AC class ticket. The cash on delivery (CoD) services will be provided by Anduril Technologies through their website and their App – BookMyTrain.com.  See more at: 

Google Launchpad program to guide Indian startups

Through its globally successful mentorship program called Google Launchpad, Google is about to guide around 100 startup companies in India. Google flagged off its first Launchpad program in Bangaluru this week. For the first time Google is planning to host four such events in Bangaluru. It is also planning to host 60 Launchpad events this year. A five-day intensive mentoring Launchpad program specially designed for early-stage startups focuses on areas including product strategy, user experience & user interface, technology and go-to-market. The mentors will be available to the startups for another three months for consultation. Google has shortlisted 20 startups for its first edition, from 1,450 applications it received last year. Around 18 out of 20 startups have been selected from Bengaluru, which is emerging as the next Silicon Valley. TCS BPO head Abid Ali Neemuchwala moves out

After spending more than two decades in TCS, Abid Ali Neemuchwala, head of the BPO arm of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has quit.  According to reports, Neemuchwala is moving out of the company as he is keen on pursuing a career outside TCS. He is a Masters in Industrial Management from IIT, Mumbai and has done his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Technology, Raipur. Mobile phones banned inside Karnataka Assembly

With the TV clip where MLAs caught watching clippings and pictures inside the House going viral, a ban has been imposed on carrying mobile phones inside the legislative assembly of Karnataka. An MLA was caught surfing photographs on his cellphone downloaded from WhatsApp during a serious debate on sugarcane pricing in the recently held session in Karnataka. MLAs were caught not only watching video clippings but also playing games like Candy Crush during the assembly sessions. Following such incidents legislative assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa had announced that he was contemplating imposing a ban on mobiles in the assembly. MLAs were asked to deposit their mobile phones in a wooden locker, where a marshal was put up to keep a watch on the deposited mobiles.   See more at:
