Capgemini launches Center of Excellence in support of SAP HANA

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Capgemini has launched a competency center - in support of the SAP HANA platform - at its global customer Business Information Management (BIM) Experience, the CUBE, in Mumbai. The CUBE is now equipped with state-of-the-art, in-memory computing technology, in cooperation with SAP, to drive high-performing, "big data" analysis, handling huge volumes of data in real time for instant business insight. One of 12 Centers of Excellence in India for information and technological innovation, this new addition expands on Capgemini's Global BIM Service Line capability, with India as one of the key hubs for innovation. Intel celebrates 40 Years of Digital Revolution

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Intel has announced the 40th anniversary of its world's first commercially available microprocessor - the Intel 4004 triggering the start of the digital revolution. For example, compared to the Intel 4004, toda's second-generation Intel Core processors are more than 350,000 times the performance and each transistor uses about 5,000 times less energy. In this same time period, the price of a transistor has dropped by a factor of about 50,000. Future microprocessors developed on Intel's next-generation 22nm manufacturing process are due in systems starting next year and will deliver even more energy-efficient performance as a result of the company's breakthrough 3-D Tri-Gate transistors that make use of a new transistor structure.
