VMware has announced that it will become the first unified endpoint management (UEM) provider with full Chrome device management capabilities. VMware Workspace ONE, a digital workspace platform powered by VMware AirWatch UEM technology, will enable customers to unify management of Chrome devices alongside all other endpoints from a single console.  “The consumerization of the enterprise has left IT managing multiple operating systems on a variety of devices – some provided by the business and others brought in by employees. Global sales of smartphones to end-users totalled 366.2 million units in the second quarter of 2017, a 6.7-per cent increase over the second quarter of 2016, according to Gartner, Inc. In the smartphone operating system market, Android extended its lead with 87.7-per cent market share, while iOS accounted for 12.1 per cent.  "Although demand for utility smartphones remains strong, there is a growing demand in emerging markets for 4G smartphones, with more storage, better processors and more advanced cameras. Google has confirmed that the latest Android 8.0 is known Android Oreo which was earlier known as Android O. As per news reports, Android Oreo will be available with compatible phones starting with Google’s own Pixel phones.   Talking about Google devices, Android O will be available for 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Google Pixel C, Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL. As per news source, Samsung has plans to announce the update of its Notebook 9 portfolio next month. It will boast of Intel 8th generation processor which will enhance its performance and efficiency. The company intends to highlight the portability and immense battery life features of the notebook.  The device may come with a Core i7 processor, up to 32GB of Memory and an S-Pen bundled with it which means the machine can be transformed into a convertible for media consumption purposes. For its eight generation of its Core chips, Intel is sticking to the Kaby Lake architecture but as far as its performance goes, the internal testing looks quite promising. The company says the chips are capable of a 40-percent increase over their predecessors - and even more notable for those finally ready to upgrade an old system: about double the performance of a five year old device.  The performance boost comes as laptop makers are expected to increasingly push the envelope with their systems. Now that the mobile has been completely out of Intel’s radar thanks to companies like Qualcomm, Intel is clearly looking to maintain its foothold in the laptop market.
