Lenovo rolls out first batch of Moto E from its Chennai Manufacturing Plant

In a significant development for Lenovo India and boosting the Make-in-India initiative, the PC maker has announced the start of local assembling of its Lenovo and Motorola smartphones in its Sriperambudur plant in Chennai. Lenovo is expecting to generate 6 million units in the current financial year and will look at touching 14 million units by next year. However, the first batch of MOTO E has already started rolling out from the plant and the K3 note will follow soon, both of which are 4G devices. Furthermore, the firm plans to source 30% of the components locally for the Indian market, going forward. The company has partnered with global contract manufacturer Flextronics International to manufacture these products. Brocade expands OEM Relationship with Lenovo

Brocade has announced it has expanded the company’s OEM relationship with Lenovo that significantly increased its enterprise IT infrastructure offerings, following the acquisition of IBM’s x86 server business in October 2014. Brocade Gen 5 Fibre Channel storage area networking (SAN) switches are now being sold globally by Lenovo and its network of channel partners, in addition to embedded Fibre Channel and VCS Ethernet fabric switches that are available in solutions for all Lenovo x86-based servers.
