Alcatel announces Re-Launch of its A310” Tablet with new specifications

Alcatel has relaunched A3 10” tablet from its A series. The Alcatel A3 10 comes with a 10’’HD IPS Display (1280 x 800 pixels) with 16M colours. It features ergonomic design and a slim 3D texturized back cover. Equipped with a 4,600mAh non-removable battery, the tablet also packs an 8MP primary and 5MP front camera for snapshots and video calls. Running on Android N 7.0, the device supports 4G LTE connectivity and is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor alongside 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM of storage. Alcatel launches A3 10” TAB powered by Android N 7.0

Alcatel has introduced the A3 10’’ tablet for Rs.9,999 in India. The A3 10 is a 4G LTE- supported device and will be now available exclusively at Flipkart from 15th June. Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India, said, “The new A310 was designed to provide our users with a complete immersive experience. Nokia and Alcatel tie up to get 18% revenue from India, APJ

In a biggest deal in the telecom industry, Nokia and Alcatel have joined hands with each other to generate revenues of $28 billion, with Asia-Pacific, Japan and India (APJ/India) contributing 18%. The annual revenue of Nokia in 2014 fiscal was Euro12.7 billion, with 26% coming from APJ/India, whereas  Alcatel-Lucent’s revenue in 2014 stood at Euro13.2 billion, with 10% (about Euro1.3 billion) flowing from APJ/India, according to data with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). If the deal goes through, the firm’s combined revenue base will hit Euro26 billion, with APJ/India contributing 18% or Euro4.7 billion (about $5 billion or close-to Rs.31,300 crore). The two firms announced that the deal is likely to be completed in the first half of 2016 and will result in Euro900 million of operating cost savings by 2019-end. This can be a good deal, since Lucent Technologies acquired Ascend Communications for about $21 billion in 1999 and can be compared with Alcatel’s 2006

Nokia in talks for a $15.6-Billion Takeover of Alcatel-Lucent

If we go by what the sources have disclosed, Nokia is said to be in the advanced stages of negotiation for a possible takeover of Alcatel-Lucent’s wireless assets. Nokia is said to be offering 0.55 of a new share for each Alcatel-Lucent share. The deal, if struck, will equip Nokia better to compete with other telecommunication equipment giants, primarily Ericsson and Huawei. It will also help Nokia to expand its presence in the key United States market where Alcatel-Lucent is a major supplier to operators AT&T (T.N.) and Verizon (VZ.N) and get access to the French firm’s fast-growing, profitable Internet routing business. At the completion of the deal, which is expected to happen in the first half of next year, Nokia shareholders will own 66.5 per cent of Alcatel, while the latter’s investors will own the remaining stake. Alcatel-Lucent supports APT to cater Mobile Broadband Services for Subscribers
