Global chip giant Qualcomm will lose a key man Derek Aberle, president ,Qualcomm's 31st December 2017 after serving for 17 years . His long association with Qualcomm is in between various ongoing legal battles involving Qualcomm’s Technology Licensing(QTL), Qualcomm’s licensing business, which Aberle leds for about a decade and with this It’ll shake the semiconductor industry.  Over the past 30years of legacy Qualcomm has been inventing core technologies that have enabled the mobile revolution and made all modern smartphones possible. Qualcomm files patent infringement complaint against Meizu

Qualcomm  has filed a patent infringement complaint against Meizu in the United States, Germany and France. These actions include filing a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC), filing a patent infringement action in Germany with the Mannheim Regional Court and initiating an infringement-seizure action in France to obtain evidence for a possible future infringement action there. Previously, in June 2016, it filed multiple actions against Meizu in China related to licensing terms and patent infringement.... Read More

Qualcomm signs patent license agreement with OPPO

Qualcomm and GuangDong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications (OPPO) today announced that they have entered into a new 3G and 4G patent license agreement for China. Under the terms of the agreement, Qualcomm has granted OPPO a royalty bearing patent license to develop, manufacture and sell 3G (WCDMA and CDMA2000) and 4G, including 3-mode (LTE-TDD, TD-SCDMA and GSM) complete terminals. The royalties payable by OPPO are consistent with the terms of the rectification plan submitted by Qualcomm to China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)... Read More

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced its intention to invest up to $150 million in Indian start-up companies across all stages as part of its commitment to India during a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Digital Economy event in San Jose. Qualcomm Ventures will advise and direct Qualcomm’s activities with respect to these strategic investments. Alcatel-Lucent and Qualcomm to redefine Ultra-Broadband Wireless Access

Wake-on-Wireless Cloud Solution unveiled

Bharti and Qualcomm join hands for 4G

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Bharti and Qualcomm have announced that they have signed an agreement for Bharti to acquire an interest in Qualcomm Asia Pacific's (Qualcomm AP) Indian BWA entities. Under the agreement, Bharti has made an initial investment of approximately US$165 million to acquire 49-per cent interest in Qualcomm AP's India entities that hold BWA licences in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala - partly by way of acquisition of 26-per cent equity interest equally held by Global Holding Corporation Private Limited and Tulip Telecom Limited, and the balance by way of subscription of fresh equity in those entities. The project utilizes a 3G-enabled mobile application developed by Xi'an Kingtone Information, smartphones powered by Qualcomm chipsets and 3G wireless connectivity to assist doctors in collecting and archiving information related to the screening and treatment of children with amblyopia in underserved communities in China. Ericsson accomplishes LTE handover technology with Qualcomm

Johan Wibergh, Head - Business Unit Networks, Ericsson said, "By accomplishing this advanced LTE handover technology together with Qualcomm, we now ensure that operators can meet consumers' expectations on a high-quality voice over LTE service. Qualcomm unveils new Snapdragon Mobile Processors

The addition of new Snapdragon S4 processors will allow OEMs to introduce S4-based devices with mobile architecture throughout their respective device roadmaps from basic smartphones to high-end smartphones and tablets. The enhanced S4 processors are also optimized for use with a suite of software solutions available from Qualcomm that help enable OEMs to deliver feature sets for multimedia, connectivity, camera, display, security, power management, browsing and natural user interface design.
