VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE NEC Corporation has begun the shipments of the new iPASOLINK series of compact microwave communications systems to Mobile TeleSystems OJSC. In order to expand and modernize MTS' communications systems, NEC will deliver 15,000 iPASOLINK transmitters to MTS in 2011. iPASOLINK is to allow MTS to increase the bandwidth capability of channels and the total capacity networks on internal communication lines. New iPASOLINK equipment is being installed in all of MTS' service regions, which will facilitate their transition to fully functional IP-based networks. One of the key components of the iPASOLINK platform is a powerful embedded switch, which provides traffic optimization, support for key functions and protocol signal transferring. The iPASOLINK provides customers with an ultra-flexible mobile transport network that can be adapted for next-generation IP-based networks, while meeting the current capacity and service demands of customers. "NEC Corporation is one of our key suppliers of Microwave Equipment, having a total installed base of more than 100,000 terminals. NEC has been associated with TTL for many years, providing microwave equipment and services for our CDMA and GSM network rollouts.
