Adding a new style quotient to its already available product line, Apple has launched its much awaited wearable device – Apple Watch at an event in San Francisco. The Watch, available in a number of variants and sizes is expected to be in the market in April in nine countries, though India was not included in the schedule. The Watch will be available in two sizes, including gold models. It will start with a price tag of $349, going up to a whopping $ 17,000 for the gold model. The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to the Department of Telecom (DoT) to debar mobile operators from offering a specific application that destructs messages after it is read by the user. This application called Tiger Text, allows users to send messages, text and video, without leaving any trail. Once a sender selects the message lifespan (from 1 minute up to 30 days), expired messages not only delete from both phones, but are not stored on any server and they cannot be retrieved. The sender can also choose other options that do not exist with other texting technology such as deleting the history of the conversation or making a text message "Delete on Read", meaning the message will disappear 60 seconds after the recipient opens the message. VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Nokia Siemens Networks (NCN) has announced the start of operations for its Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. NII Holdings, which operates under the NEXTEL brand in Latin America, is the first operator to use the GNOC to centralize its network operations. Nokia Siemens Networks currently manages operations for NII's multi-vendor networks across five countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru. The GNOC will allow Nokia Siemens Networks to consolidate network operation activities across the five countries, providing economies of scale and improving network efficiency. Other operators in the region are expected to be able to benefit from the GNOC and its remote service delivery model. The center has the potential to serve as a "near shore" location for operators in the Americas time zone.
