In a recent announcement, Microsoft Philanthropies has declared that it has donated cloud services to 90,000 nonprofits worldwide globally. The company has also reached its $1 billion Public Cloud for Public Good commitment a year ahead of schedule. In early 2016, Microsoft had committed to donating $1 billion in cloud computing resources, over three years, to help 70,000 nonprofit organizations digitally scale their impact and serve the public good. Building on this and deepening its commitment to non-profits further, Microsoft has also announced the formation of a Technology for Social Impact group that will work to bring cloud services to a total of 300,000 nonprofits in the next three years. Check Point has announced its product integration of Check Point SandBlast Mobile with Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) to secure mobile devices in the enterprise.  Cyberattacks have evolved beyond the enterprise perimeter, breaching mobile environments; yet only one percent of enterprises have deployed mobile security technologies. Microsoft had huge success with Azure (cloud computing platform). Now Microsoft is taking steps to move Azure into hybrid cloud environments with the announcement of the general availability of Azure Stack, an extension of Azure. Microsoft's hardware partners, including Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Dell EMC and Lenovo, will ship Azure Stack with their hardware systems. As a part of it reorganization of its business model to focus on selling cloud computing infrastructure and services under the Azure brand, Microsoft is cutting around ten percent of its global sales force.  In an official statement last week the company said, "Microsoft is implementing changes to better serve our customers and partners. Microsoft has announced major update to Windows 10. As part of Windows-as-a-Service, the November update delivers significant updates for business customers, including Windows Update for Business, Windows Store for Business, Mobile Device Management, Azure Active Directory and new security features. Customers will be able to participate in the private preview of Microsoft Azure from India data centers in July 2015, which is a key component of our Microsoft Cloud services.  This will give them a headstart to run trials of their apps on Microsoft Azure from local infrastructure.  With these hyper-scale data centers, Microsoft will offer enterprise-grade cloud services from local data centers to customers of all sizes and industries, including government departments and banking and financial services. Microsoft will launch the commercial cloud services from local data centers by the end of this year.
