A million robot to work for Foxconn soon

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Foxconn was hit hard by a string of well-publicised workers' suicides in China last year. It now plans to replace factory workers with more than 1 million robots in three years to cut rising labour costs and improve efficiency, according industry report. Terry Gou, Founder & Chairman, Foxconn, said, "the company will deploy robots to do simple and routine work such as spraying, welding and assembling, which are now mainly conducted by workers." "The company has set up an automation robotics division and currently has 10,000 robots. The number will be increased to 300,000 next year and 1 million in three years", Gou added. India to wait for Dell streak 10 Pro

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Dell has launched its first 25.4-cm (10-inch) tablet in China, but India has to wait for the device for some time. The new tablet from Dell is based on Android and directly competes with devices like the iPad 2 and several other 10-inch tablets already available in the market. According to market report, the Dell India spokesperson confirmed the future availability of this device in India but did not give any concrete date as to when it would be launched in the country and hinted that the Dell Streak 10 Pro is expected to be launched in India later this year or by early next year. The Dell Streak 10 Pro has an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor running at 1GHz with a 1GB or RAM for speedy operations. TAKE Solutions Revenues soar by 47% in Q1FY12

Maxx Mobile to launch tablet soon

Nano-sized batteries power mobiles

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE An Indian-origin scientist-led team in the US has packaged lithium ion batteries into a single nanowire, which they claim could soon be a rechargeable power source for new generations of nano electronics. Prof Pulickel Ajayan and colleagues at Rice University claim their creation is as small as such devices can possibly get, in their research published in American Chemical Society journal 'Nano Letters'. In their research, the scientists tested two versions of their battery. The first is a sandwich with nickel or tin anode, polyethylene oxide electrolyte and polyaniline cathode layers; it was built as proof that lithium ions would move efficiently through anode to electrolyte and then to supercapacitor-like cathode that gives the device ability to charge and discharge. Post acquisition, Wyde, which has over 200 employees with insurance domain expertise, would operate as a product business of Mphasis. Wyde's revenue was over $30 million in 2010, its website showed.
