LAVA has announced the launch of LAVA Iris Fuel 20, another smartphone in the Iris Fuel series of big battery devices.Iris Fuel 20 comes with a mammoth 4,400mAh battery that promises 42 hours 2G talk-time, 13 hours video playback and 35 hours music playback time.   It features a 5-inch display with FWVGA 854X480 resolution. The smartphone operates on the 4.4 KitKat Android OS and runs on 1.3 GHz Dual-Core processor paired with 512MB of RAM.On the camera front, the smartphone offers 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 4x digital zoom and high-quality Omni Vision sensor. It also includes a VGA front-facing camera supporting video calling. Moreover, Iris Fuel 20 also supports HD Video Playback with 720 pixels. Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Tata Docomo, Uninor, Idea Cellular, Aircel and Reliance Communications have submitted applications to participate in the upcoming spectrum auction in March. Sistema Shyam TeleServices (MTS India), BSNL, MTNL and Videocon Telecom are however not participating in the spectrum auction. Industry watchers are currently looking for the participation of Mukesh Ambani, the billionaire promoter of Reliance Jio Infocomm, which could not launch 4G services after buying BWA spectrum in 2010. The presence of Reliance Jio Infocomm, which has pan-India spectrum to launch 4G services on TD-LTE and spectrum in key cities for using FD-LTE, is anticipated to escalate the spectrum price. In December 2015, seven licenses each of Idea Cellular and Reliance Communications, four licenses of Bharti Airtel and six licenses of Vodafone will complete their 20-year term after which they have to be renewed. Microsoft corp. has launched two smartphone, Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 at Rs 5,999 and Rs 6,499 respectively which is affordable to the customers. Both smartphones come with latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, Microsoft’s Office suite including Word, Outlook for email, Skype, and up to 30GB of free cloud storage. The features of Lumia 435 include a four-inch display and a modest two-megapixel front camera. The more expensive 532 features the same display but includes a more powerful camera and access to some high-speed networks, and dual SIM for using more than one phone number. Both the phones come with 30GB free OneDrive cloud storage offered by Microsoft and also with Micro SD slot with a storage capacity of upto 128GB.
