SecureVue gets SCAP Certification from NIST

European Aeronautical Supplier's Website hacked

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Sophos Labs has determined that the website of a European aeronautical parts supplier – which is currently not being named due to the sensitivity of the situation - had been hacked, and a malicious attack planted on the website which exploits zero-day Microsoft security vulnerability.    Users running any flavour of currently-supported Windows are vulnerable, from XP, up to and including Windows 7.  All supported editions of Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007 are also vulnerable.  There is not yet an official patch from Microsoft, but the company recommends that Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office users immediately install a Fix-it solution, downloadable with instructions from Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 2719615, until the company issues an official fix. New report details the demands of IT jobs

The report is based on a survey of nearly 800 IT professionals in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States that sought to determine the degree to which they have to be always available, always working at peak capacity and always accurate. Survey respondents confirmed the hunch that IT professionals must be as Always-On as the data center. When asked to describe an aIways-on situation, typical comments included "I have to be on, the same way the system is required to run 24 hours every day," and "There are strict timelines to finish projects while still working to put out fires." McAfee reveals Global Financial Fraud Ring

So far, McAfee estimates the criminals have attempted somewhere between €60 million and €2 billion in fraudulent transfers from at least 60 banks. This fraud empire, dubbed Operation High Roller, is comprised of at least a dozen groups that use active and passive automated transfer systems to steal high-value transactions from high balance accounts. The Operation High Roller attacks have impacted thousands of every class of financial institution: credit union, large global bank and regional bank, using smaller and less detectable automated transactions.  "We need to remember that criminals are agnostic when it comes to the colour of money. VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   To add flavor to the start of their I/O conference, Google announced the launch of its much-awaited 7-inch tablet. The Nexus 7 sports a 7-inch, IPS (in-plane switching) screen, with a resolution of 1,280x800 pixels. The tablet measures 10.45mm thick and weighs 0.7 pound. Featuring a 1.3GHz Nvidia quad-core Tegra 3 it also includes a 12-core GPU. The Nexus 7 will be the first device to run the latest version of the Android 4.1 OS, also known as Jelly Bean. Though Android 4.1 but the device is just as customizable as previous incarnations of the OS, the way it's presented on this tablet feels much more controlled and focused.  The home screen is presented in portrait mode only and doesn’t rotate. There's also a 1.2-megapixel front camera, but lacks in 3G connection with only Wi-Fi to be relied for connectivity on this.
