Guruprasad Mohapatra DPIIT Secretary took his last breath:  Guruprasad Mohapatra , the Secretary in the   Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)   died. He was being treated at   AIIMS, New Delhi   for covid-related complications.   PM Narendra Modi  tweeted, “Saddened by the demise of Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, DPIIT Secretary. I had worked with him extensively in Gujarat and at the Centre. He had a great understanding of administrative issues and was known for his innovative zeal. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti."   Piyush Goyal  tweeted, “Extremely saddened to hear about the loss of Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Secretary DPIIT. His long-standing service and dedication to the Nation have left a lasting impact. I convey my deepest sympathies to his family and friends."   At DPIIT, Guruprasad was instrumental in formulating the production linked incentive schemes. He was also actively working on reducing compliance burden on the industry.

What's next for Windows: Just wait for 24th June:  Microsoft   to reveal its next generation of Windows on June 24th. It is a very special Windows event for the entire technology industry in this universe.   Windows 11 is closer than you think it is, with a release likely coming later this October, but Insiders are likely to get it much sooner. It is going to be called Windows 11, and it brings many of the UI changes that we saw earlier with the now-defunct  Windows 10X .   The software giant has started sending invites to media for a Windows event on June 24th. Both Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and chief product officer Panos Panay will be presenting at the  Windows event . World Wide Web’s source code to get auctioned as NFT:  The   World Wide Web's creator Tim Berners-Lee   is auctioning off his invention's source code as an NFT (non-fungible token). Berners-Lee, a London-born computer scientist, invented the World Wide Web in 1989, revolutionising the sharing and creation of information in what is seen as one of the most significant inventions since the printing press appeared in Europe in 15th Century Germany.   Berners-Lee’s 1989 invention of the  World Wide Web  went on to revolutionise how the world creates and shares information. The winning bidder for the World Wide Web source code, tied as NFT, will receive a letter from Tim Berners-Lee “reflecting on the code and the process of creating it.”   The original archive of dated and time-stamped files contains the source code, written between October 3, 1990, and August 24, 1991.   Approximately 9,555 lines of source code, which include implementations of HTML, HTTP and URIs. Google to curb online harassment brings Search algorithms:  Google   has updated its Search algorithms to protect people who are dealing with extraordinary cases of repeated harassment online.   Pandu Nayak, Google Fellow and Vice President, Search , said, “We’re also looking to expand these protections further, as part of our ongoing work in this space. The change was inspired by a similar approach we’ve taken with victims of non-consensual explicit content, commonly known as revenge porn. While no solution is perfect, our evaluations show that these changes meaningfully improve the quality of our results.”   Now, once someone has requested a removal from one site with predatory practices, Google will automatically apply  ranking protections  to help prevent content from other similar low-quality sites appearing in search results for people’s names... Brand Finance reported Jio as India's strongest brand:  According to the latest report on Indian brands by   Brand Finance , Telecom and digital communications major   Reliance Jio   is the strongest brand in India. As per Brand Finance, Jio is also the world's strongest telecom brand.   The report noted that despite being founded only in 2016, Jio has quickly become the largest mobile network operator in India and the third largest mobile network operator in the world, with almost 400 million subscribers. Jio took India by storm, offering 4G to millions of users for free and simultaneously transforming how Indians consume the internet - known as the 'Jio effect', it said.
