Fujitsu launches PRIMERGY CX600 M1 Server

Image
Fujitsu has introduced the PRIMERGY CX600 M1 system , purpose-built to meet the exacting demand for massive parallel computing power from today’s high-performance computing (HPC) applications in fields such as scientific research, product development and business intelligence. The new system comprises the PRIMERGY CX600 M1 chassis and PRIMERGY CX1640 M1 server nodes, which deliver ultra-dense clusters and a highly competitive price/performance ratio. The PRIMERGY CX600 M1 delivers extremely high density processing, with eight independent servers in a 2U chassis, and nine times the compute performance of a standard 1U dual-socket rack server. A standard rack will integrate up to 168 compute nodes, for an unprecedented total peak performance of more than 500 TFLOPS/DP... Read More

SUSE ties up with Intel

Image
SUSE, along with Intel, will distribute SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for High-Performance Computing as an option for the recently-introduced Intel HPC Orchestrator , an Intel-supported HPC system software stack. It is the first commercially supported Linux to be included as an operating system option with Intel HPC Orchestrator system software stack, and the companies will offer joint support for the combined solution. As a result, enterprise customers can accelerate innovation with faster access to relevant, business-changing data. Intel HPC Orchestrator, powered by SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for HPC, reduces the burden of integrating and validating an HPC software stack. It greatly simplifies ongoing maintenance and support by aligning new components and optimizations driven by the OpenHPC community. “The SUSE and Intel collaboration on Intel HPC Orchestrator and OpenHPC puts this power within the reach of a whole new range of industries and enterprises that n...

Axis brings IP Cameras with i-CS Lens

Image
Axis Communications has introduced IP cameras featuring i-CS lens. This latest lens technology is the result of a joint development between Axis Communications and the Japanese leading lens manufacturer Computar (CBC Group). The new intelligent i-CS lens directly exchange information such as its geometrical distortion and the exact position of its zoom, focus and iris opening. “In the past, CS-mount cameras had no information about what type of lens was mounted on them making it necessary to manually fine-tune lens and camera settings for optimal results. The new i-CS lens technology is based on an open protocol standard allowing lens and camera to exchange information. The installer can remotely both set the focal length and focus the camera. All in all, this makes installation quick, easy and time-saving,” says Andres Vigren , Global Product Manager, Axis Communications... Read More
