Cisco to invest in broadband network in India

To support Digital India initiatives, global networking major Cisco Systems has signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government on 17th March, 2016 to carry out a broadband project in the state. The project will be focussed on placing a 22,500-km-long broadband network, which will cover two million households. The company has plans to set up a manufacturing unit in Pune in the country. John T. Chambers, Executive Chairman of Cisco , has also expressed his plan to come up with an Internet of Everything (IoE) innovation centre and to launch the fibre grid network in Visakhapatnam. Microsoft to open Centre of Excellence in AP
