Connected devices are at risk-Kaspersky Labs

A research conducted by Kaspersky Lab and B2B International shows that when it comes to Internet security, consumer’s concern and awareness are both on the increase. However, despite a growing recognition of the need to protect devices, many consumers are struggling to identify, install and use security software. The study, which questioned 11,819 people from over 27 countries, assessed cybersecurity trends amongst consumers in today’s rapidly-evolving, multi-device, connected world. It found that consumers are using more connected devices than ever before, with the average household now owning 8 connected devices. The research shows that mobile devices have replaced desktops as the main device for going online and tablets are also losing out to smartphones. AMD holds top position in Thin Clients space

AMD has achieved a number-one market share position for thin clients based on its thin-client shipments. According to its unit sales to thin-client customers last year, AMD has more than half of that market, with 53-per cent market share. AMD thin-client solutions continue to gain market adoption because of the move to cloud-based computing. Increasingly, thin clients are also being used for more complex and high- performance tasks. This is especially true for devices incorporating x86 CPUs and sophisticated graphics. HP empowers print service providers to explore new business opportunities

At Pamex 2015, HP has showcased its flagship HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press along with other printers and presses from its Indigo, Latex and DesignJet portfolio. The company has also planned a slew of activities to engage and educate the Print service providers (PSPs) involved in general commercial printing and labels and packaging helping them explore the immense possibilities with HP’s digital print technology and provide increased value to their end-customers through unique application and improved automation. The latest enhancements for the HP Indigo 10000 include additional ElectroInk inks, including white, light cyan, light magenta and spot colours, and HP Indigo Enhanced Productivity Mode (EPM), which eliminates black via three-colour printing and enables an increase in colour printing output by 33 per cent. 1.6 Billion Connected Things will be used by Smart Cities in 2016-Gartner

Gartner has estimated that 1.6 billion connected things will be used by smart cities in 2016, an increase of 39 per cent from 2015. “Smart commercial buildings will be the highest user of Internet of Things (IoT) until 2017, after which smart homes will take the lead with just over 1 billion connected things in 2018,” said Bettina Tratz-Ryan, Research Vice-President, Gartner. “Commercial real estate benefits greatly from IoT implementation. IoT creates a unified view of facilities management as well as advanced service operations through the collection of data and insights from a multitude of sensors.
