MapR all set to increase its presence in India

MapR Technologies has announced the opening of its new R&D Centre in Hyderabad signalling the company’s larger plans for the Indian market and an increased presence in the country.

The new R&D Centre comes as a consequence of proven demand for MapR products and solutions in India, where companies are investing in Hadoop technology to increase engagement and customer loyalty. The R&D Centre is an 11,000-sq. ft. facility. Along with increased presence in the country, MapR expects 100% growth in employees in a year’s time. Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India.
