Omega Healthcare accelerates Application Performance with a Brocade Network

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Brocade has announced that Omega Healthcare has standardized on an enterprise-wide Ethernet switching infrastructure from Brocade at its facilities in India to improve application and network performance. These issues that Omega experienced with its legacy networking infrastructure had been causing frustration among the staff and adversely impacted employee satisfaction, leading to high attrition. After an exhaustive evaluation process, Omega selected the Brocade BigIron RX for their network core and the Brocade FastIron Series switches to extend Power over Ethernet (PoE) at their network edge. This resulted in significantly faster application response times and screen refresh rates on the thousands of networked devices that access Omega’s campus-wide LAN. National Instruments expands NI Wireless Sensor Network Platform

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE National Instruments has announced two new products that extend the communication and measurement capabilities of the NI wireless sensor network (WSN) platform. The new NI 9792 is a programmable WSN gateway that can communicate with NI WSN measurement nodes as well as other hardware through a variety of open communication standards. The gateway combines an NI LabVIEW Real-Time controller and an integrated WSN radio so that LabVIEW Real-Time applications can run locally on the gateway to aggregate data from NI WSN devices, making the NI 9792 ideal for embedded, wireless data-logging applications. The NI 9792 gateway, which is programmable with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module for standalone operation, features a high-performance 533 MHz processor and 2 GB of onboard storage for embedded data-logging applications. SAP inaugurates Two Computer Labs in Mumbai

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE SAP has inaugurated two computer labs in the city for the benefit of underprivileged children and local youth, as a part of its social responsibility programme. Through the initiative "Project Lakshya", SAP pledges to impart basic computer literacy to 100,000 underprivileged youth across India by the end of 2011. Both labs in Mumbai have been implemented along with NGO partner Shikhar. Peter Gartenberg, Managing Director, SAP India, inaugurated the computer lab in Navi Mumbai. The other lab is in Jogeshwari. Both labs are well equipped with 10 computers pre-loaded with simple, user-friendly software, and will act as a hub to provide basic computer literacy. Fujitsu records highest growth among Top 5 Global Server Vendors in 4Q10

With global year-on-year growth of 12.6 per cent in server unit shipments, Fujitsu increased both sales and market share. In the expanding x86 server market segment, Fujitsu also delivered the strongest growth among the top five server vendors, increasing global year-on-year sales of its PRIMERGY lines by 12.5 per cent in comparison to a market average growth of 6.3 per cent. In EMEA, PRIMERGY x86 industry standard servers enjoyed a huge 20.8-per cent year-on-year growth in shipments, more than a factor of four times the average market growth of 4.8 per cent.
