India to have 165 Million Mobile Internet Users by 2014

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Internet users, who are accessing the web through mobile devices including smartphones and tablets and dongles in India, are continuously increasing. According to the latest report generated by IAMAI, mobile Internet users in India are expected to reach to a benchmark of  165 million by March 2014. Mobile internet users to touch 46 mn in India by Sep 2011

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and market research leader IMRB has released a report titled Mobile Internet in India. According to the report- India currently has 35 million mobile internet users, out of which- 26.3 million users are grouped as active users. The number of mobile internet users in India is expected to touch 46 million in September 2011. The report also highlights that Mobile internet usage has been observing a 15 per cent growth quarter on quarter. Online activities are mostly accessed followed by e-mail, chat and social networking sites. 5.4 mn active users access Mobile Apps. Only 1.96 million people use e-banking through mobile internet and 90 per cent of mobile internet users have pre-paid connection.
