In an effort to safeguard customers from fraudulent products, HP(NYSE:HPQ) has confiscated counterfeit print cartridges and components worth Rs.34 crore in 38 cities across 19 states in India. HP has collaborated with local law-enforcement authorities to make this action possible. The local authorities raided and took legal actions against manufacturers and sellers in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Manipur. HP has announced the seizure of over Rs.35.5 crore worth of counterfeit print cartridges and components by local authorities in 46 cities across 18 states in India, protecting customers from fraudulent products. “With counterfeit HP print cartridges, customers purchase what they often assume to be a genuine HP product, but they instead receive a cartridge that provides them with an inferior print experience.
